Precision Plate Forming for Fabrication

Precision plate forming helps meet exact design specifications. Our accurate press-brake process for heavy plate involves repeatable angles and a clean fit-up. Precision designs meet industrial standards and are easy to integrate with other in-house processes and schedules. Dimensional accuracy and quality ensure a perfect fit, minimizing rework or corrections during assembly.

Forming Capabilities, Specs & Benefits

For high precision, adherence to industry standards and client specifications, and repeatability, we use advanced controlled press-forming stainless steel systems. Multi-phase QA processes and in-house engineering expertise ensure durability, reliability, and precision.

Capabilities / Specifications:

  • Press brake with 20' x 500-ton capacity.
  • Bends common steel grades to ½” thickness, with options for thicker materials if required.
  • High stroke/daylight for a deep box or panel with a throat depth of 18”.
  • Long components have 16’6” between housings.
  • Small parts have front support arms on linear guides.
  • Even angles across panel length with manual or automatic crowning.
  • The CNC back gauge is used for repeatability.
  • Typical tank components include inner/outer rims, bulkheads, pontoons, and wind girders.

Benefits:

  • Consistent angles and tight tolerances ensure less rework in assembly.
  • Minimal weld time and splicing due to long-length stainless steel forming.
  • In-house coordination ensures fast turnaround.
  • Processes are traceable and consistent, ensuring repeatable results.

FAQs

Yes, rolling, cutting, and coating can be combined with forming in a single order. We offer comprehensive integrated services, which save time and money when compared to using multiple suppliers for individual processes.
Angle accuracy across long bends is controlled using advanced measurement systems, an expert in-house team, and stringent process control. Proper material selection and machine maintenance are also important.
Springback needs a combined process that includes adjustments in the design, suitable tooling selection, and process compensation. This helps to handle the high-strength and work-hardening properties of the steel.
To quote the relevant parts, information such as the design of the part, the material grade, thickness, and certification, and the project details like quantity, timeline, and delivery time are needed.
Material formability, such as tearing or thinning and strain hardening, is a key limitation. Others include the size of the equipment, tonnage, and the process mechanics.
